Pretzel Fail

We tried making vegan chocolate covered pretzels, and failed pretty epically. The theory is that we let them cool for too long and they got stale that way, but we really don't know how they ended up so stale. If anyone has any suggestions we are all ears.

Co-Op Adventure

We are going to an orientation to become volunteers/members at the Hampden Co-Op. The plan is to volunteer for 6 hours a month and get 21% off organic fruits, and vegetables, when we go grocery shopping. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal, we'll see how it goes.

Veganism Take Two

We have embarked on Vegan month take two. We have been vegan for 14 days. Above is a photo of a pizza luce pizza that has half soy free vegan cheese, and the other has rinotta, which is a vegan house specialty. Split in half the other direction has one half of fresh veggies, all of which was very tasty. The vegan thing has been much harder to transition into so far, then vegetarianism. A positive thing that has come out of all this has been that certain food tastes even better then it did before, a little food for thought as vegan moth continues.

Crocheting and Fruit

The school we work at was giving away some books from the library. This one looked appealing and I had heard good things.

Like everything one reads, so much of it ends up reflecting life. This book was no exception and just became more and more reflective, from death, to fruit, to crocheting, to compromising on our meanings of life.

Avocado - Palta

We are growing...

an avocado tree...in the winter...in Minnesota. One day, while riding the bus home from work, we missed our stop and ended up at the next one. At this stop, we found our roommate's brother. He gave us two avocados. One became guacamole. The other became an interesting toothpick induced balance in water. We shall inform you of the progress.

Superhero

I am teaching a community education class after school on making things out of duct tape. The kids have begun making up their own creations and even showing other kids how to make them. This one is a superhero that can fly around the classroom when you throw it. I feel it is quite relevant to current situations.
